As I was listening to Justin Bieber’s “As Long As You Love Me”, I was struck by a portion of the song that is sung by Big Sean. He says “the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. It’s green where you water it.” Simple lyrics, certainly, but nonetheless profound.
People always say that “the grass is greener on the other side”, but that’s only true if your focus lies there. Where your thoughts lie, so follows your head, heart and energy. Therefore, the grass is greener in the area where you water it. Those places where you focus your thoughts become energized when you “water” them. All of a sudden, you are the person whose grass is greener on the other side! Others are peering into your world and wanting what you have, not realizing that they possess the power to have the own green grass.
