On September 11, 2001, my husband lost his childhood best friend to the terrorist attacks. David Tengelin was an accountant with Marsh & McLennan on the 100th floor of the North Tower of the WTC. His building was the first hit and, given that he was on the 100th floor, he never had a chance to get out. Regretfully, I never knew David, but from all the stories that I’ve heard and read, he was an extraordinary person.
R.I.P. David – to the best friend I’ll never know.
