Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge is a modern day icon of style and grace. Much like her late mother-in-law Diana, Princess of Wales, the Duchess is fascinating in every regard. She is beautiful, smart, stylish and gracious. Duchess Kate truly does have it all. And by having it all, she’s created “The Kate Effect”.
Audrey Hepburn, Jackie O and Princess Diana all achieved iconic status in their lifetimes. Women want to emulate them. And it seems like everyone from women to little girls want to be like Kate. For example, Miss Middleton sought out a particular diet program prior to her wedding to Prince William. Once the word got out, everybody had to try it. Whether she’s seen wearing a chic outfit or dining in a particular restaurant, people, particularly women, want the same thing. Kate wields that kind of power. It’s like our opportunity to be royalty or at least catch a glimpse. And this yearning for a glimpse can be called “The Kate Effect”.
This year she will be giving birth to an heir to the British throne. Although hospitalized briefly for severe nausea, her pregnancy seems to be going as well as could be expected. She has handled herself gracefully and has even made some appearances. “The Kate Effect” will soon expand into motherhood as many mothers will ask themselves “What would Kate do?”
To conclude, Kate is our modern day princess. Yes, she holds the title of Duchess of Cambridge, but her life fits a little girl’s idea of a princess. And she married her Prince Charming and is carrying a baby that may very well someday assume the British throne. What more could a girl want?
