I’m usually very motivated and enthusiastic, overly so in some cases. But for the past few weeks, I find myself going through the motions and not being terribly excited about anything. I keep telling myself “this to shall pass”, but I keep wondering if there is something I can do to speed up the process and get me into overdrive. Maybe I could read a book about motivation, exercise more, try new things (Pilates!). I can’t help but think that I need to do something to motivate myself. I can’t just wait around for inspiration. What if it never comes?
I’m very lucky to have a husband who motivates and inspires me with new ideas. I also love reading what others are doing on social media. I find my virtual friends just as inspiring as my “real” friends. I enjoy turning to these sources of inspiration when I’m feeling unmotivated. Their energy lights a fire under me and forces me out of my cocoon and into this fabulous world in which we live.
So here’ s the plan. I’m going to begin one new activity (private Pilates lessons), start reading one book (The Aladdin Factor), and begin a consistent treadmill workout (everyday with an intense workout three times a week). That’s a plan! I may not keep up with all of up, but you have to aim high. What’s that saying? Shoot for the moon because even if you miss, you’ll land among the stars.
