“If your ship doesn’t come in, swim out to it.” -Jonathan Winters
Why wait on life to give you what you want? You might be waiting for a very long time. You might be waiting forever. I believe that life is about being creative. It’s about being proactive. When you combine this pro-activity with creativity, watch out! Your life will ignite! This is because life is waiting on you to grab it. Life isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s for those who are willing to take a chance and pursue their dreams. Others are just standing on the sidelines.
I once read a quote by William Shedd that said “a ship is safe in harbor, but that’s not what ships are for”. How very true and what a striking relationship this quote bears to the original quote of this article. Ships are safe if they remain in harbor, but ships are designed the sail the high seas and so are we! Sure, we can remain in our own personal harbor, but how will we grow? How will be prosper as human beings if we never do what we are designed to do?
I challenge you to leave you own personal harbor and sail the high seas, if only for a little while. You’ll feel invigorated. You’ll feel satisfied. But most importantly, you’ll feel alive!
