“Let yourself be drawn by the strange pull of what you love. It will not lead you astray.” -Rumi
Trust your instincts and you can never go wrong. I’m not sure what that little voice is inside you saying what is right and what is wrong, but I’ve learned to trust it. It almost never leads me in the wrong direction. Whether it’s my first impression about a person, a decision that I’m torn about making, or the first steps I need to take in a new direction in my life, there it is. A little voice saying “go this way” or “avoid this path”. As I get older, the voice becomes clearer and more trustworthy. I like that. I like being able to depend on myself and my instincts. It’s reassuring.
I hope that you have these instincts as well. I believe that I’ve developed mine through years of meditation, yoga, exercise, journaling, and other introspective activities. Finding your inner voice can be difficult in these hectic times with things pulling you in different directions. Taking time for quiet introspection is vital to our mental and emotional health.
