The quote above reminds me of the movie Groundhog Day where Bill Murray keeps living the same day over and over again. However, with the case of this quote, this is real life and many people really are living the same day, week, and year over and over again and believing that it is their life. While I am guilty of getting into a rut every now and then, I like to believe that I add enough spice to my life to distinguish my years. In fact, I strongly believe that “it’s not the years in your life, but the life in your years” that matter.
Eleanor Roosevelt once said “Do one thing everyday that scares you”. I firmly believe that she was adding life to her years by making this statement. By confronting our fears, we get to feel the exhilaration of living life because we are conquering what life is throwing at us. Mrs. Roosevelt was very smart and had a lot of terrific quotes, but this one, to me, has the most impact because it’s actionable and makes the most sense in getting people to confront their fears and start living their lives instead of living their lives on repeat.
