It was a beautiful day in Tallahassee for the Cross Country portion of the Red Hills International Horse Trials.  Many of the horses traversed the Cross Country course without incident and completed the course which was meticulously designed by Hugh Lochore.

According to the official program book for the Red Hills International Horse Trials, the Cross Country phase “requires horse and rider to be in excellent physical condition, to be bold and very trusting of each other.”  Furthermore, “the test is designed to measure the endurance and degree of control and timing to two athletes working as a team.”  It is called “the most demanding” of all the eventing competitions because “it requires the horse to jump a series of fixed obstacles that the horse has not previously seen.”  Thus, lending itself to an exciting day of eventing competition!

The women stayed on top of the CIC*-CIC*** divisions today.  See below for a full recap of the standings as well as some additional photos from the Red Hills International Horse Trials.
